Journalist Matiur Rahman Chowdhury said in an interview recently given to Banglavision that President Md. Sahabuddin does not have any documentary evidence of the resignation letter of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The President's remarks sparked protests in various parts of the country, including Dhaka, and heated up the political arena.
After the President's speech, the anti-discrimination student movement and other political organizations held protests at various places including Dhaka University demanding his resignation. This time they accused the President of lying, which made the situation even more muddled.
Asif Nazrul, leader of anti-discrimination student movement and legal advisor, strongly criticized the President's comments. They claim that such statements by the President are negligent of his duties and work against public trust. Overnight, the city of Dhaka was taken over by protesters, who also clashed with the police.

সাংবাদিক মতিউর রহমান চৌধুরী সম্প্রতি বাংলাভিশনে দেওয়া এক সাক্ষাৎকারে জানিয়েছেন যে, রাষ্ট্রপতি মো. সাহাবুদ্দিনের কাছে সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার পদত্যাগপত্রের কোনো দালিলিক প্রমাণ নেই। রাষ্ট্রপতির এই মন্তব্যকে কেন্দ্র করে ঢাকা সহ দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে বিক্ষোভ ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে, এবং রাজনৈতিক অঙ্গন উত্তপ্ত হয়ে উঠেছে।

রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষকদের মতে, রাষ্ট্রপতির এই বক্তব্য রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতাকে আরও বাড়িয়ে তুলতে পারে এবং সরকার ও বিরোধী দলগুলোর মধ্যে সম্পর্কের আরও অবনতি ঘটাতে পারে। বিক্ষোভকারীরা দাবি করছে যে, গণতন্ত্র ও সংবিধানের সঠিক প্রয়োগ না হলে দেশের রাজনৈতিক স্থিতিশীলতা হুমকির মুখে পড়বে।
